The successful candidate will create technical and user documentation of software including on-line help content, usage guides, and white papers.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

•Interacting with software engineering team to learn and understand changing software functionality; using the knowledge to update, edit, and create documentation

•Participating in an agile development cycle to understand development specifications and applying knowledge to create software documentation

•Editing and validating software documentation

•Independently learning software

•Creating training materials to support documentation and training employees on software functionality

•Recognizing opportunities to create new types of documentation to support the customer's needs


Required qualifications:

•3-5 years experience as a technical writer (preferably for software), including, but not limited to, user guides, installation guides, technical documentation, training materials, and curriculum development

•Ability to work with software developers to understand technical software specifications

•Ability to independently learn new software applications and generate user and installation documentation with few documented

•specifications

•Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a upbeat, energetic, "go-getter" personality

•Detail oriented, organized, and reliable

•Able to handle multiple priorities, be flexible, and work well with others with minimum supervision

•Able to take initiative, be creative, and succeed under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment

•A proven track record creating organized, concise, and accurate technical documentation

•A strong background in grammar, spelling, and sentence construction

•BS degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication, Software Engineering, or related fields or equivalent experience

Desired qualifications:

•Experience serving on an agile development team

•Some knowledge of HTML or experience with Dreamweaver or similar product

Experience in one of the following fields:

•Finance – experience with corporate budgeting processes and/or a strong understanding of IT finance

•IT Service Desk – experience at an IT call center or help desk, or experience writing documentation for help desk software
